■ Bethlehem to host

member and Bible classes

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will conduct new member classes at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday and Jan. 12. If you or someone you know would like to become a member of Bethlehem please call the church office at 829-3330 or email

The church also is offering “Overview of the Bible Class.” The class is a three-part multi-media series of the entire Bible including major themes, books, characters and historical development. This is for anyone who is new to reading the Bible or for someone who reads the Bible regularly and wants a good review.

Classes will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 7, 14 and 21. People are asked to RSVP by calling 829-3330.

■ Prayer meeting scheduled

There will be a gathering to pray non-denominationally from 2-3 p.m. Sunday in the back room at the Sawmill Inn in Brainerd.

People are asked to bring their Bible and friends. People will pray for God’s will to be done for the people of the world and for their our own personal lives. People will use the theme of 2 Chronicles 7:14.

■ Christ-Centered support

group for codependents

A Christ-centered support group for codependents will meet every Monday from 5-6 p.m. at the community room of the Sawmill Inn in Brainerd. Join the group as they heal together through exploring the 12 Christ-Centered Codependency steps with people who have “been there and done that.” People will learn how to establish healthy boundaries that will restore sanity to their own life, as well as encouraging your loved ones to seek the help they need. Bring your Bible and a friend.

■ Trinity to install officers

Trinity Lutheran Church of Brainerd will install the Vision Council officers for 2014 at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services. Pastor David P. Holte will preach. Communion will be served at both services. A reception for the officers will be held between services in the gathering area.

Officers to be installed are Bob Nibbe, president; Troy Schreifels, president-elect; Sherry Grabowski, secretary; Doug Johnson, treasurer; and Julie Anderson, Andrea Baumann, Kari Christensen, Sandee Haugene and Dave Johnson, as members-at-large.

Education hour will be held at 9:30 a.m. It is Food Shelf Sunday and Noisy Can Sunday.

■ Teen Challenge Choir to perform

NISSWA — Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge will perform at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at The Christ Community Church in Nisswa.

Teen Challenge has performed statewide, including at more than 230 churches in 2012. The choir sings gospel and praise songs, that is accompanied by client stories of addiction recovery. Additionally, representatives from the program will be available following the service to answer questions about the Minnesota Teen Challenge.

The event is open to the public.
