Pastor Harvey Peterson and wife Bebe found a dog outside of their Riverside Union Church about a month ago. It would sit on the side of Hwy 45 south of Brainerd, watching cars. After a story and photo ran in the Dispatch, the phone rang and dog and owner were reunited.

(Adv.) It's a Halloween Party! Bring the kids for a costume party from 3 to 4 p.m. with "Bozo the Clown" and "Wendy the Nice Witch." Then, from 8 to 11 p.m. it's the Adult Costume Bash, with prizes for best costumes. Bar Harbor - North End of Gull Lake.

In a battle of the only undefeated conference swim teams, St. Cloud Tech downed the visiting Warriors by 107-65. But coach Willy Severson was not displeased. Brainerd's Dawn Clabo set Tech pool records in the 50 and 100 freestyle and Lisa Gohl set a team record in the 200 IM.

Figures compiled by the Dispatch show that the flu-like epidemic here is abating in the junior high school, with absences dropping from 238 yesterday to 230 today, but are jumping up at Washington High School. Staples schools have had to close and their football game is cancelled.

The Northeast Brainerd Improvement League wants the lights turned back on in Brainerd and it wants them on NOW! The league felt the board had enough money on hand to light up the town. Street lights have been out since the city closed saloons and couldn't pay its light bill.
