Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615 will serve breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 5 at 215 South Ninth St., Brainerd. Order from the menu. All proceeds go to support Elks programs.

Brainerd Elks Lodge will have a Polish sausage feed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainerd Elks Lodge, 215 South Ninth St., Brainerd. Cost is $8.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Brainerd Legion will have a  Post Executive Committee meeting at 7 p.m. Monday and an Auxiliary Membership meeting at 7 p.m.

 Bob & Fred’s “World Famous” rib dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. until gone Thursday. Cost is $13 or $12 with a pre-sale ticket. There will be a Post fundraiser brat sale from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at Super One in Baxter

Backus Legion monthly breakfast

BACKUS — The Backus American Legion Auxiliary’s monthly breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 12.

The breakfast includes a choice of French toast or pancakes, fried or scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, juice and coffee for $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Proceeds from the breakfasts, held the second Sunday of each month February through October, go to veterans, active duty troop, community and auxiliary programs.

Brainerd Garden Club to tour farm

The Brainerd Garden Club will meet 1 p.m. Friday for a tour of the St. Mathias Farm. Hostesses are Marty Peisch and Doris Svee.

Bachelor and bachelorette auction planned Friday

The Brainerd Lakes Area Women of Today will have its seventh annual bachelor/bachelorette auction at 8 p.m. Friday at Shep’s on 6th to benefit Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity.

Celebrate cancer survivorship picnic set

The Essentia Health Cancer Center at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd invites all cancer survivors and their families to a picnic to celebrate their journey. Join other survivors and cancer center staff from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 15  in the Peace Garden at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Each survivor will be honored with a gift, enjoy appetizers and fellowship with other survivors and their families. The celebration is free for cancer survivors and their families, however preregistration is encouraged by calling 828-7650.

Shriners to meet Monday

The Shriners will meet Monday at Jack’s House for a 6 p.m. dinner and a 7 p.m. meeting  for election of officers.

VFW to meet

Friday’s VFW dinner will be Hab and Crew cooking and serving prime rib dinner with all the trimmings serving from 5:30 p.m. until gone. Cost is $12. Reservations are appreciated by calling the club at 829-6393. Everyone welcome.

WHS class of 1955

The Washington High School class of 1955, spouses and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Monday at the Brainerd Lakes Cafe.

Special Olympics silent auction

NISSWA — The Minnesota Special Olympics will presents “Special Angels Sports Club” silent auction from 3-7 p.m. June 12 at the Nisswa American Legion. Bingo will be played from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

Participants can look over the silent auction items and bid before, during and after bingo.

Proceeds will go to athletes with physical and intellectual challenges.

Relay for Life event

STAPLES — The American Cancer Society Staples/Motley Relay for Life event will begin at 5 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Staples Elementary School track. The public is invited to attend the honor ceremony, survivors march, view the luminaries and enjoy the music, games, food, live and silent auctions and the Mr. Relay contest.

Ladies Auxiliary to celebrate anniversary

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post No. 1647 will celebrate their 80th anniversary and honor the past commanders and presidents from 2-4 p.m. June 11 at the VFW.

Appetizers, cake and coffee will be served and there will be a drawing for door prizes.

Cap. Robert Orr of the Daughters of the American Revolution  will meet at 10 a.m. June 12 at the Sawmill Inn in Brainerd.
