Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615 will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at 215 South Ninth St., Brainerd. Order from the menu. All proceeds go to support Elks programs.
Brainerd Legion upcoming events
Upcoming events at the Brainerd American Legion include a Post Executive Committee meeting at 7 p.m. Monday with the Auxiliary membership meeting at 7 p.m.; a bologna feed by Jinks Mulholland from 5:30 p.m. until gone Thursday. Cost: $8; and the 194th Armory holiday party is planned for Jan. 7.
Christian nativity mystery lecture
Wayne Smith, sponsored by the Great River Anthroposophical Circle, will lecture from 10 a.m to noon Jan. 7 at the Brainerd Public Library on the Christian nativity mystery, reconciling the major differences in the nativity of Matthew and Luke’s gospels.

Mission Possible Senior Club

Ray’s Promenaders will have a square dance Friday at Franklin Arts Center. Jim Jirak will call Plus at 7:30 p.m. and Mainstream at 8 p.m. The theme is denim night. Richard and Winona Dosh will host the potluck finger food snacks following the dance.
WHS class of 1955
The Washington High School class of 1955, spouses and friends will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. Monday at the Brainerd Lakes Cafe.
Chapter DV, P.E.O.
Chapter DV, P.E.O. will meet 10 a.m. Jan. 7 at the home of Sue Beilfuss with Jan Morton as co-hostess. Program will be photography by Kathy Herold.
Aadzuhman Shrine Club
The Shriners will meet for dinner at 6 p.m. and a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Jack’s House. It will be the annual meeting and the election of officers.
Lakes Area Senior Morning Club
The Lakes Area Senior Morning Club program schedule for January 2012: Jan. 4, Lance James, Poverty Bound; Jan. 11, John Jacobson, dean of students, school district policy on bullying; Jan. 18, Lowell Johnson, IOC-Local Inside Out Connection on the negative impact of incarceration on children and families; and Jan. 25, Gary Parker, Native American history. The Lakes Area Senior Morning Club meets each Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A speaker program is scheduled each week on various subjects of interest to the community. The club also participates in the “Books in a Bag” program sponsored by the public library. All members of the Senior Center, both men and women, are invited to become part of the group. Coffee and delicious Senior Center made donuts are provided.
