Encore Arts Association
Encore Arts Association will meet Tuesday at the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center, 803 Kingwood, Brainerd, at 7 p.m. Barbara Morgan is presenting a program about Rosemaling on fabric and serving as hostess. Everyone will have an opportunity to try their hand at Norwegian Rosemaling on small gift bags, being provided. Bring a flat brush and a round brush of medium sizes plus acrylic paints in blue, red and white. Some supplies will be available for those who come without them.
Brainerd Legion upcoming events
Post Membership meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday at the Legion.
A prime rib dinner by Teddy Anderson will be 5:30 p.m. until gone Thursday at the Legion. Cost: $13.
Brainerd Lakes Area Audubon Society
The Brainerd Lakes Area Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd.
Program will be speaker Jason Edens of Rural Renewable Energy Alliance. Edens is the executive director of the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL), a 501(c)(3) non-profit grassroots organization, that believes solar energy presents a viable alternative to fossil fuels. Edens will tell us what RREAL has been doing to help alleviate rural poverty, reduce air pollution, and help people in Minnesota live more sustainably. Nisswa Garden Club
NISSWA — The Nisswa Garden Club will meet Thursday at Lutheran Church of the Cross. Check-in and social time will begin at noon. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. followed by a business meeting and program. This month’s speaker will be Jeff Dirks, Central Lakes College. Backus Legion Surf and Turf dinner
BACKUS — The final Surf and Turf dinner of the Backus American Legion’s fall-winter season will be served from 5 p.m. until gone Feb. 24. Cost: $11. The clubrooms are located at Highways 371 and 87 West.
