Brainerd Garden Club
Brainerd Garden Club will meet 1 p.m. Friday at the Northland Arboretum. Program will be growing roses up north presented by Jackie Burkey. Hostesses are Marlys Ray and Betty Holden. Visitors are welcome.
Crow Wing County Fair Association
The Crow Wing County Fair Association board meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday at the curling rink at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds.
Brainerd Legion upcoming events
The Post Executive Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Monday. The Auxiliary Executive Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. and the Auxiliary membership will meet at 7 p.m.
Dyanne Witthuhn will serve a meat loaf dinner from 5:30 p.m. until gone Thursday at the Legion. Cost is $8.
Finnegan’s Pub Crawl
Finnegan’s Pub Crawl will be March 9. Finnegan’s, Bernick’s and the Brainerd Lakes Area Women of Today are teaming up to raise money.
First stop is the Last Turn, then walk to the American Legion and O’Neary’s Irish Pub then get on the bus and head to Zorbaz and Ernie’s and back to Liquor Pigz. There will be drink specials and appetizers at the stops and free Finnegan’s beer on the bus. There will be a bag pipe band along for the ride and tons of great Finnegan’s items you can buy.
Cost is $30 which includes a 2012 Pub Crawl T-shirt and a blonde wig (to promote Finnegan’s Blonde Ale), complementary appetizers and pint. The profits will be donated to the Salvation Army Food Shelf to provide meals to families in our area.
Also fresh produce will be purchased from the Farm on St. Mathias to donate to the food shelf.

Brainerd Elks Lodge Breakfast
Brainerd Elks Lodge No. 615 will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at 215 South Ninth St., Brainerd. Order from the menu. All proceeds go to support Elks programs.
Women’s Country League Pool Party rescheduled
The Women’s Country League Pool party was rescheduled for Wednesday at Yesterday’s Gone. Social hour will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Prizes/money payout with a pool tournament for $5.
Lakes and Woods Garden Club
The Lakes and Woods Garden Club of Aitkin will be meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative.
Everyone is invited to join in and participate in our program “Learning from each other.” Come prepared with garden questions, successes and failures or new things you would like to try and your favorite variety of a vegetable or flower you grow and why.
The Minnesota Lyme Disease Association is having a luncheon/fashion show on March 10 at Breezy Point Resort/Whitebirch Room at 11:30 a.m. There will also be a silent auction and prizes. Fashions and talent provided by Fun Sisters, Vanity, Kohl’s, Fashions for a Cause and Heart and Soul Dance.
The ticket price is $25 and may be purchased at Panache Salon & Day Spa, North Country Floral, Brainerd; Kyle’s Kut, Studio by Design, Seed of Summer, Pequot Lakes; Martins, Nisswa; Grieps Jewelry, Pine River; and Crosslake Hair Company, Crosslake.

Aadzuhman Shrine Club
Aadzuhman Shrine Club will hold its monthly meeting on Monday at Jack’s Place. Social hour will be at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m. Ladies are invited to join us for the night. Wreaths for the Fallen annual meeting
Wreaths for the Fallen annual meeting will be 6:30 p.m. March 13 at the Little Falls VFW, 1210 Third Ave. NE, Little Falls.
Widowed Friends will meet 11 a.m. Monday at Bonanza.
Potlatch Retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday for cards and lunch at the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center.
Lakes Area Senior Morning Club
The Lakes Area Senior Morning Club meets each Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A speaker and program is scheduled each week on various subjects of interest to the community. The club also participates in the “Books in a Bag” program sponsored by the public library. All members of the Senior Center, both men and women are invited to become part of the group. Coffee and Senior Center made donuts are provided.
The programs scheduled for March are as follows: March 7, Donna Wambeke, Heartland Animal Rescue Team; March 14, Ed Hall, Airport Management Proposal; March 21, Tane Barclay, Executive staff, St. Cloud Correctional Facility; and March 28, Gary Walters, Cross USA Bike Trip-Kinship Partners fundraiser.
Firearm safety training
A firearm safety training class will begin March 28 at the Eagles Club. Class will be from 6-9 p.m. for six weeks on Wednesdays. Adults are welcome to take the class. Call the Eagles to pre-register at 829-4216. Class is limited to 25 students. Total cost is $15. Students must be 12. Registration will be open until the class is full.
Germans from Russia Heritage Group
The Brainerd Area Germans from Russia Heritage Group will meet from 1-3 p.m. March 11 in the Fireside Room at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Baxter. Mission Possible Senior Club
