Good Samaritan Society spaghetti supper and silent auction
The Good Samaritan Society-Woodland will have a spaghetti supper and silent auction from 4:30-7 p.m. March 29 at Woodland to benefit the STAR Ministry.
Cost: $7.50 per ticket for adults, $5 for children 8 and under. To reserve tickets, call 829-1429. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Good Samaritan Society offers chronic conditions workshop series
Good Samaritan Society is offering a Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshop series starting 1 p.m. March 26 at the Brainerd-Woodland campus, 100 Buffalo Hills Lane.
The workshop is designed for adults who want to take charge of their ongoing health problems and get relief from their pain, fatigue, and other symptoms. Call Joy Nordby at 855-6639 to register or for more information.

Brainerd American Legion Post membership meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday.
Fred Helmer and Bob Harting will serve a rib dinner from 5:30 p.m. until gone Thursday. Cost is $13.
Pillager American Legion Post and Auxiliary to meet
PILLAGER — The Pillager American Legion Post 100 and Auxiliary will meet 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Pillager City Hall. Bring items for “comfort boxes,” manufacturers’ coupons, Campbell’s soup labels, boxtops and pop tops. We will be arranging a trip to St. Cloud VA to deliver lap robes, heart pillows, neck pillows, wheelchair bags, comfort boxes and will be clipping coupons to send to troops overseas.
AAUW to meet
Brainerd Branch AAUW will hold its annual meeting at 10 a.m. March 24 at Edgewood Vista, 14890 Beaver Dam Road, Brainerd. Officers will be elected and the 2012 convention will be discussed. Luncheon will be served and members will be called for reservations.
Nisswa Garden Club
NISSWA — The Nisswa Garden Club will meet Thursday at Lutheran Church of the Cross. Check in and social time will begin at noon. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. followed by a business meeting and program. This month’s speakers will be John and Calvin Wallin from the Wallin Berry Farm. Paul Bunyan Toastmasters’ speaker of the month
Hans Jones was the speaker of the month for January for the Paul Bunyan Toastmasters group. His speech was entitled “Curling - Not just for Hair.” Do you get butterflies in your stomach when you have to talk to a crowd of people? Does the thought of public speaking stress you out? If so, Paul Bunyan Toastmasters is the place to be and the club you should join to help overcome that fear.

The Brainerd Lakes Area Early Childhood Coalition in partnership with the Brainerd Public Library will be offering a Cooking with Kids event from 6:30-7:30 p.m. March 26 at the Brainerd Public Library during story time. American Cancer Society Relay for Life open house
BAXTER — The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is seeking volunteers in the Brainerd lakes area — walkers, cancer survivors, caregivers, community leaders, anyone wanting to make a difference — to organize and recruit fundraising teams, garner community support, coordinate logistics, plan entertainment and lend a hand to ensure the success of the 2012 July event.
The Crow Wing County Relay For Life community open house and team captain expo will be from 5:15-7:15 p.m. Monday at Lord of Life Church in Baxter. Relay For Life supports the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back against the disease. Doors will open at 6 p.m. prior to the meeting for those who wish to do genealogical research at the church library.

Partners for Peace/Occupy Little Falls event planned
LITTLE FALLS — Little Falls Partners for Peace and Occupy Little Falls will hold a vigil from 1-3 p.m. March 30. The vigil will take place at the corner of Coborn’s (1101 Second Ave. NE) and Walgreens (1023 First Ave. NE) near Highway 27. The vigil will support peace, economic justice and respect for the environment. Refreshments will be provided. Signs are available.
