■ Spaghetti supper

to benefit STAR program

The community is invited to a spaghetti supper and silent auction from 4:30-7 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Society-Woodland, 200 Buffalo Hills Lane, Brainerd. Proceeds from the supper will benefit the Good Samaritan Society STAR Ministry program to support events for residents and staff at Good Samaritan Society-Woodland. Cost: $7.50, adults; $5 for children 8 and under. To reserve tickets, call 829-1429. Tickets will also be available at the door.

■ Sleep Apnea support

group to meet in February

STAPLES — Lakewood Health System’s durable medical equipment store, Medical Marketplace, will be hosting a sleep apnea support group from 2-3:30 p.m. Thursday on the Lower Level at Lakewood’s Main Campus. This is one of a series of meetings that follow a nationally recognized sleep apnea program called A.W.A.K.E., which stands for Alert, Well And Keeping Energetic, and was created on behalf of the American Sleep Apnea Association.

■ Disabled American Veterans

The monthly meeting for DAV Crow Wing County Chapter No. 22 will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Brainerd VFW club. All members are invited to attend. There will be a gift raffle for attendees. The raffle will be for gift certificates at area restaurants. Chapter 22 officers meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

■ Lake Country Nordic Ski Club

The Lake Country Nordic Ski Club will have its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Cass County Land Department main meeting room, 218 Washburn Avenue East, Backus. The club is maintaining and grooming the Grant-in-Aid trails of Cut Lake, Goose Lake, Hiram and Washburn Lake in Cass County.

We will be discussing our grooming, trail improvements, equipment, financing and much more. Bring your questions and comments.

■ Holistic healing and psychic fair coming to Brainerd

Healing therapists, intuitive consultants, aura photos, health professionals, psychics, spirituality resources, crystals, stones, jewelry, specialty gifts and more are available to attendees of the Holistic Healing & Psychic Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Brainerd Hotel & Conference Center. Admission: $5. This is an educational event that welcomes all who are interested. There are gift bags for the first 25 guests and door prizes throughout the day.

PIERZ — Horizon Health Faith in Action’s next Dine and Discover will have experts from the Brainerd Lakes Heart & Vascular Center at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd – share the importance of knowing your numbers and knowing your four main risk factors for heart disease.

Join us at Horizon Health’s Community Room in Pierz on from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 27 for an afternoon of learning how many of the risk factors for heart disease are within your control. Gain a better understanding of these risk factors and how you can control them. Lunch is included. A freewill donation will be accepted.
