Rummage/bake/craft sale planned

The Church on the Wise Road, 10345 Wise Road, Brainerd, will have a rummage/bake/craft sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 26-27. All proceeds will benefit missions.

The church is taking donations now through May 25. Call 218-829-4673 to make a donation.

Fun, Food and Fund Day set for June 15

WADENA—The 27th annual Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Fun, Food & Fund Day will be June 15 at St. Ann's Church, 514 First St. SE, Wadena, starting with registration at 8:30 a.m. followed by Rosary and Mass.

"Pearls of Wisdom" is the theme. A silent auction, lunch and door prizes are planned. The Kuhn brothers, Father Aaron and Father Matthew will entertain. Wear pearls to the event.

The church is handicap accessible and gluten-free is available if indicated on the registration. Cost: $15 on/or before June 5, late registration and walk-ins, $20.

This event is sponsored by the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women with Fergus Falls-Wadena Deanery hosting. Registrations should be sent to Lois Nanik, 15100 County Road 23, Verndale, MN 56481 (218-445-5395).

First Lutheran Church events

First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will host a card shower/farewell reception at 9:15 a.m. Sunday during coffee hour to honor Vicki and her years of dedication to the youths and to wish her well on her exciting future.

There will also be cake during coffee hour to honor the graduating seniors. There will be special music and prayers for the seniors and their families at both the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday. The seniors will be recognized and receive a gift from First Lutheran during the 10:30 a.m. service.

Trinity to honor high school graduates

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 South Sixth St., Brainerd, will honor its 2017 Brainerd High School graduates at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. A brunch will be served to the graduates and their families in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 a.m.

Graduates to be recognized are Cody Dryburgh, Jakob Ebinger, Katie Fillbrandt, Katie Jobe, Jack Norquist, Luke Norquist, Kennedy Rusk and Evan Schreifels.

Pastor Dave Holte will be speaking at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services with Holy Communion being observed.

Jordan Gades, director of Christian Education, will be honored during the coffee hour in the Gathering Area for his service at Trinity. Gades finished his formal internship last August and has been in his current position since September 2016. He will graduate on Sunday afternoon from Luther Seminary and will be seeking a call as a pastor in the Northeastern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA.

"Dollars for Scholars" silent auction continues in the Gathering Area and ends 10:15 a.m. May 28.

Bethel Lutheran Church activities announced

Pastor Don Ludemann will lead the sixth Sunday of Easter worship service beginning at 9 a.m. with the sacrament of Holy Communion being served.

Sunday school classes and a council meeting will follow at 10 a.m.

The morning will conclude with a potluck meal in recognition for the years of ministry Nancy Opitz provided at Bethel.

Bible study will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the fellowship hall.

Handbell choir concert planned

Bethlehem Bells will present a handbell choir concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 Eighth Ave. NE, Brainerd.

They will be performing a number of pieces from their repertoire including Susan T. Nelson's arrangement of "Will You Come and Follow Me" (The Summons) and Brenda Austin's "Joy and Delight."

A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the building renovation project and handbell choir.

Spaghetti dinner planned

PINE RIVER—Maple Hill Lutheran Church, 3986 44th St. SW, Pine River, will host a spaghetti dinner from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the church, featuring Pastor Dave Stevens' spaghetti, famous in five states and featured in three church cookbooks.

The menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, brownies, ice cream cups and beverage.

A freewill offering will be accepted. Proceeds from the dinner will be used to upgrade the church elevator.

To get to Maple Hill Lutheran Church, go 4 miles west of Pine River on County Road 2 and then 5 miles south on County Road 26. Or from south of Pine River, take County Road 1 to County Road 28, go west on County Road 28 for 3 miles and then north 1 mile on County Road 26.
