WHS class of 1958 to meet

The 1958 Washington High School class will meet 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Brick House Bread and Bagel to start planning for the 60th class reunion.

VFW Friday dinner planned

The VFW Friday dinner will be a chicken dinner served from 5:30 p.m. until gone Friday.

Cost: $9. Reservations are appreciated by calling the Club at 218-829-6393.

Nisswa Garden Club to meet for annual garden tours

NISSWA—The Nisswa Garden Club will meet 10 a.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, County Road 13, Nisswa, to kick off the home tours.

Members and their guests are welcome to attend. The program, "Annual Garden Tours," will be a tour of four gardens by club members. Everyone is to first meet at the church and then will be carpooled to the homes. Picnic box lunch will be provided at Betty Ramsbacher's residence.

Washington High School classes 1963-1966 to gather

WHS classes 1963-1966 will gather from 6:30-10 p.m. June 24 at the Elks Lodge in downtown Brainerd.

PEO Chapter CJ to meet

CROSSLAKE—PEO Chapter CJ will meet Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, 14444 Daggett Pine Road, Crosslake.

Judie Larson will act as hostess and Betty Ehrhardt will be co-hostess. Program will include the Convention Report.

WHS class of 1954 meets Tuesday

BAXTER—The Washington High School class of 1954 will meet 11:30 a.m. Tuesday for lunch at Grizzly's in Baxter.

WHS class of 1965 meeting planned

The Washington High School class of 1965 will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Sidetrack on Highway 371 (the old Bada Bing's).

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Post and Auxiliary meetings will be 7 p.m. Monday.

Local 31 will meet 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The special on Friday will be Bob Harting's rib dinner for $11. Walleye is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m. Cosmic Bingo will start at 8:30 p.m.

Wadena Whirlaways to square dance

WADENA—The Wadena Whirlaways Square Dancers will host a dance beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wadena County Fairgrounds in Wadena.

Jim Lizakowski is the caller and the cuer is Rita Lizakowski. The theme is county fair/root beer floats.

Night Under the Stars set for July 15

Camp Knutson's 14th annual "Night Under The Stars" will begin with a wine bar and silent auction at 4:30 p.m. July 15. A gourmet dinner follows with a live auction and program.

Run for the Roses is the derby theme.

The dollars raised are used to enhance the lives of more than 1,100 children and teenagers who attend the camp. The camp weeks include autism, heart, Down Syndrome and skin disease. For one week a year each person attending feels comfortable as those attending are just like them.

Wear your hats and join in the party. Tickets for the event begin at $85 for auction and dinner. Tickets for the auction only and cocktail party are $35.

NARFE to meet

The Brainerd Chapter No. 738 National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Northwind Grille in downtown Brainerd.

Lunch will be served at noon.

The presentation will be the NARFE convention.

Senior dance

A senior dance will be from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainerd Blue Room with music by Andy and Stu.
