The second annual Ron Schara's Minnesota Bound Invitational bass fishing tournament is scheduled July 9-11 on Gull Lake.

The Pequot Lakes 14-U AAA team won the Breezy Point Summer Ice Fest tournament Sunday. In the championship game, Pequot Lakes defeated the Minnesota Junior Wild 5-4 as Zoe Wolhart scored the winning goal in a shootout. Pequot Lakes also defeated the Minnesota Thunder 3-1, Cambridge 4-1 and the Junior Gophers 3-0.


HUGO - Luke Schubert of rural Brainerd and his partner, Shelby Ling of Windom, recently earned the titles of state champions and No. 1 qualifier to the 61st annual National High School Finals Rodeo in Farmington, N.M.


Crow Wing County Princess Molli Koering greeted the first baby born in June, Madison Mae Kinnan, daughter of Thomas and Jeri Kinnan of Breezy Point, with a $50 savings bond and a basket of dairy products. Madison Mae was born at 1:31 a.m. June 1 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
