Police called to return patient to hospital
Shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday police were asked for assistance by Essentia Health’s St. Joseph’s Medical Center staff after a patient fled from the emergency room.
Hospital staff pursued the male patient a short distance east in the direction of Gregory Park as police arrived in north Brainerd. Police located the man on the south side of Gregory Park as he ran into the Brainerd Christian Fellowship building on Juniper Street.
Police Chief Corky McQuiston said the man was somewhat combative and resisting officers.
“He didn’t want to go back,” McQuiston said. Officers brought the patient under control and returned him to the hospital at 523 N. Third St. McQuiston said no charges were expected.
