Governor proclaims March as Minnesota Faith in Action month
Governor Mark Dayton proclaimed March as Minnesota Faith in Action Month. Faith in Action programs were established to provide critical services to assist seniors and others in need to remain living independently in their own homes.
The Faith in Action component in Crow Wing County, Lakes Area Interfaith Caregivers, has nearly 400 volunteers actively helping the elderly. They give almost 200 rides every month, driving over 100,000 miles each year and build 35 to 40 wheelchair ramps in a given year. LAIC volunteers donate over 6,000 hours per year helping their neighbors.
