House lost to fire Saturday

A Fort Ripley home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene after the blaze was reported Saturday on the 2200 block of County Road 122.

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to the call at 3:54 p.m. Saturday. No one was reported injured in the fire. The home is occupied but the fire department reported no one was home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 8 p.m. and returned twice, at about 9 p.m. Saturday and again about 9 a.m. Sunday, to put more water on the remains of the home.

The Nisswa Fire Department was called to provide mutual aid and standby at the Brainerd Fire Station in case another fire call came while Brainerd firefighters were occupied at the scene.

Peter Lofstrom is listed as the owner of the home, according to Crow Wing County records. The home is in St. Mathias Township.
