Forestview students of the second trimester were recently recognized. The following students who qualified for the Brainerd Geography Bee at Forestview Middle School were Taylor Collette, Baylee Bessingpas, Jake Zontelli, Haley Schmaltz, Tyler Dahl, Connor Gunsbury, Keaton Riley, Taylor Schloemer and Justin Thesing. Taylor Schloemer was the winner and will advance to the state competition. 

Pepperdine University Seaver College senior and Little Falls native Luci Prosapio has been awarded $27,000 through the international Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships to pursue graduate studies abroad during the 2012-2013 academic year. Prosapio plans to study international development in South Africa.

Katherine Walker, Brainerd, daughter of Wendy Yde, Brainerd, and Richard Walker, Lydia, was named to the Augsburg College dean’s list.

Lyndsey Johnson and Andy Voges, sixth grade; Britta Bittner and Josh Senst, seventh grade; and Levi Puetz and Samantha Olmscheid, eight grade; were named as Pequot Lakes Middle School third quarter students of excellence.

 Artists of the third quarter for Pequot Lakes Middle School were Morena Hammer and Marty Fitzer, sixth grade; Payton Edevold and Cam Christiansen, seventh grade; and Nathan Kastner and Carlee Waschek, eighth grade.

Megan Elizabeth Tank, daughter of Gary and Gina Tank, Pillager, received a $1,000 University Scholarship from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Kaylianna McKinzie Mathison, daughter of Mike and Kellie Mathison, Baxter, received a $1,000 University Scholarship from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Jenna Roberts, daughter of Bernie and Linda Roberts, Nisswa, has been accepted to the Duke PA program.
