Several area residents honored by Jefferson Awards

ALEXANDRIA — Several area residents received an honorable mention from the Jefferson Awards for Public Service, announced by media partner KSAX/KRWF. 

The Jefferson Awards are a national recognition system honoring community and public service and are presented at local and national levels. Locally, honorees are selected from nominations of ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary achievements without expectation of recognition or reward. The recipients of national awards are selected from the local levels and represent a cross-section of truly outstanding Americans.

The area 2011 Honorable Mention recipients are Bill Musel of Baxter, Ruth Stroschein of Little Falls, Jan Venzke of Wadena, Tad Hoskins of Brainerd, David Schonrock of Baxter, Steven Hansen of Pine River, Kristy Tesdahl of Deerwood, Vi Klungness of Deerwood and Judy Herrly of Deerwood

Bremer Banks of Alexandria, Willmar and Brainerd; Leech Lake Gaming; Galeon; Alexandria Technical & Community College; and Leuthner Law Office sponsored the 2011 Jefferson Awards.
