Missing student found after three-hour search

PEQUOT LAKES — Pequot Lakes authorities Tuesday afternoon alerted the public to an eighth-grader missing from Pequot Lakes Middle School.

The student, Samuel Wallace, was reported missing about 11:30 a.m. The Pequot Lakes School District released through its phone network Samuel’s physical and clothing description with a plea that people call the district or police if he was found.

Acting Pequot Lakes Police Chief Kate Petersen said Samuel had an orthodontist appointment Tuesday morning and had not returned to the school.

About 2:15 p.m. Samuel was found by officers at a park in Nisswa. Petersen said he had walked from Pequot Lakes to Nisswa. Samuel was found uninjured and safe.
