Flood warning issued for Aitkin


A flood advisory was issued Thursday for the Mississippi River in Fort Ripley and a flood warning for Aitkin after more than a half-inch of rainfall in the river basin.

The river near Fort Ripley will remain below the 10-foot flood stage. At 10 a.m. Thursday the Mississippi River in Fort Ripley was at 9.2 feet and was expected to crest Saturday at 9.3 feet. 

In Aitkin, the Mississippi River is expected to remain high for the next several days.
