More than 1,000 lakes area residents will be featured in Brainerd Rotary's Positive Charge photo premiere at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Franklin Arts Center auditorium.

The World Positive Premiere will be the grand unveiling of the nearly 300 photos taken during the Positive Charge photo shoots, where community members from around the Brainerd lakes area were photographed with signs portraying an inspirational message or describing why they love living here.

Photographs of people with their friends, their pets, even in their scuba gear will be displayed in the windows of area businesses, schools, churches and offices, online and in print starting on Memorial Day.

“We were overwhelmed by the success of this event,” Jeff Torfin, Positive Charge co-chair, said. “To have so many people from so many communities participate, it really shows what an amazing area we live in. Thank you to everyone who was involved and to the dozens of businesses who donated to A Positive Charge.”

The public is invited to  the World Positive Premiere where a slideshow featuring all the photos will reveal the Positive Charge campaign in its entirety. Speakers will include Rotary President Theresa Goble, Rotary member John Landsburg and Positive Charge co-chairs Jeff Torfin and Aaron Hautala.

Photos will be publicized on Facebook,, following the event.
