One killed in head-on collision in Mille Lacs County
ONAMIA — A head-on collision Thursday morning on U.S. 169 in Mille Lacs County left one person dead and another in critical condition, the State Partol reported.
The collision, reported at 11:48 a.m. Thursday, happened on the 20000 block of Highway 169 near Mille Lacs County Road 16, just north of Milaca, the State Patrol reported.
One vehicle, driven by Ronald Lee, 61, Coon Rapids, was driving in the wrong lanes of traffic on 169 — southbound in the northbound lanes — when he collided with a northbound vehicle.
The driver of the northbound vehicle died as a result of the collision, the State Patrol reported. The name of the victim wasn’t released Thursday.
Lee was transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where Thursday he was reported in critical condition.
