Horseback riding, camping in Pillsbury over the weekend
To help celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the DNR Division of Forestry, the DNR and the Minnesota Trail Rider Association are hosting a horseback riding and camping event at the in Pillsbury State Forest through Sunday.
Camping sites at the Walter E. Stark Assembly Area and Campground near Pillager are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Horses must be furnished by participants.
Organized rides are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Cost is a $16-per-night equestrian-site camping fee. There are no other costs.
To get to Stark from Pillager, take Highway 210 east one mile, turn left (north) and go 3-1/2 miles.
