Stars and Stripes Days July 3-4 in Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point

PEQUOT LAKES – Two days of fun-filled events over the Fourth of July holiday weekend are planned for the Breezy Point-Pequot Lakes Stars and Stripes Days.

One of the highlights of Stars and Stripes Days is the parade, which an estimated 14,000 people will view in downtown Pequot Lakes. Another highlight will be the July 3 fireworks in Pequot Lakes. Other activities include a firefighter’s rodeo, carnival games, live music and more.

July 3 kicks off Stars and Stripes Days with many events: carnival games, food vendors, fireman’s rodeo and moon jumps from 5-10 p.m. at Trailside Park in Pequot Lakes. Wristbands will be sold for unlimited jumping and games.Whiskey River will perform from 7-10 p.m. at the Trailside Park; fireworks by Zambelli will start after dusk from the Pequot Lakes High School football field.

July 4 events include the Pequot Lakes Fire Department pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m. at the Pequot Lakes Fire Hall; flea market featuring more than 50 vendors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Trailside Park; karaoke contests for young and old, moon jumps, bed races and money in the haystack events will start at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day in Trailside Park. Kiddie parade registration will begin at 11 a.m. at the Pequot Lakes Chamber Welcome Center in Trailside Park. The parade will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the chamber parking lot. The Stars and Stripes Parade will begin at noon. There will be no parking along the parade route and County Road 11.

Parking is available with free shuttle bus service from Eagle View Elementary School on County Road 11. Additional parking is available at Pequot Lakes High School and TDS Telecom. Those parking in these areas are advised to cross Highway 371 at the stoplight.

Handicapped parking is available on Government Drive, E. Butler Street, St. Alice Church and Old Highway 371 near Pequot Lakes Dental Center. County Roads 112 and 11 will be closed to through traffic beginning at 11 a.m. July 4.

Raffle tickets, at a cost of $5, will be sold July 3-13. A complete list of prizes can be found at Those purchasing a raffle ticket will receive a blinkie button, which will entitle those wearing the buttons to receive specials at participating area businesses. Raffle prize winners will be drawn July 13 during Bean Hole Days in Pequot Lakes.
