Vehicle flips into Sauk River, killing man, 2 kids

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — Police say a vehicle with five occupants went off a Stearns County road and landed upside-down in the Sauk River, killing a man and two children and injuring two other men.

Emergency crews responded to the scene Monday about 2:15 a.m. They found the vehicle submerged underneath a bridge.

A 20-year-old St. Cloud man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 13-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy in the vehicle were rushed to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

A 33-year-old St. Cloud man and a 20-year-old Moorhead man were taken to a hospital.

Authorities haven't released any names pending notification of relatives.

Stearns County deputies and St. Cloud police are investigating the cause of the crash.
