The Lakes Area Senior Activity Center in Brainerd is reaching out to its seniors and the community online.

The senior center is launching its website that can be found at www.brainerdseniors.com. The website is still a work in progress.

DeAnn Barry, executive director at the senior center, said the website will be complete within 30 days. Barry said people won’t be able to contact the center at this time from the website since that is still being worked on. When it’s complete people will be able to contact the center directly from the site.

Barry said the center has wanted to develop a website for a long time to educate people on what the senior center is about and what it offers. The website includes a calendar of all the entertainment events, classes and activities that go on at the center. It also has information on the center’s famous doughnuts that are made fresh every Thursday morning, except holidays. As well as the services the center provides, such as the gift shop filled with hand crafted items made by senior center members and the different clubs, such as a book and a train club.

Detailed information on the monthly dinners in the Great Room of the senior center and the noon meals served Monday through Friday at the Lutheran Social Services Dining site also are available.
