A happy crowd was on hand Friday night to welcome home members of the U.S. Army Reserve’s Brainerd-based 309th Engineering Company.

Staff Sgt Michael Koering received hugs from Morgan, 5 (center) and Ryan Koering, 3.

The troops returned home after a year-long deployment in which they cleared roadways of improvised explosive devices in Afghanistan.
