GOP senators to tour CLC
Senate Republicans, led by Senate Higher Education Committee Chair Michelle Fischbach, R-Paynesville, will continue visits to higher education campuses throughout the state on Thursday.
Sen. Fischbach will tour campuses in St. Cloud and Brainerd and will be joined by Sens. John Pederson, R-St. Cloud, and Paul Gazelka, R-Brainerd.
The legislators will meet with administrators, faculty, and students to discuss solutions and listen to ideas to encourage the long-term health and effectiveness of Minnesota’s higher education system.
Sen. Fischbach and Sen. Pederson will begin the day with visits to St. Cloud Technical and Community College and to St. Cloud State University. The final visit will be with Gazelka at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
The visit to the Brainerd campus of CLC is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. and will begin in Room C210, the president’s office. The college is located at 501 West College Drive.
Crosslake Days Disc Golf Tournament planned Saturday
CROSSLAKE — The Park and Library Foundation of Crosslake will host the second annual Crosslake Day’s Disc Golf Tournament at the Crosslake Community Center at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Cost to register is $10. Prizes will be awarded. Pre-register at the Crosslake Community Center or at the event from 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday.
The event is open to all ages and skill levels and is a fundraiser for Crosslake’s nonprofit Park and Library Foundation.
