Hair stylists from the lakes area, including Pam Wachholz (left) and Deb Schey, gave free haircuts Saturday during Operation Community Connect held at Central Lakes College.

The event, sponsored by the Crow Wing County Coalition to End Poverty, provided a one-stop shop for people to apply for various types of benefits, receive information on opportunities for them and apply for social services assistance.
