Kraus resigns Nisswa post
Resignations were received from two area city council members this month, the Lake Country Echo reported. They were Harold Kraus of Nisswa and Lyle Kline of Lake Shore.
Kraus, 82, served as mayor for 10 years (1997-2006) after having served two years on the city council and a year before that on the planning commission. He was elected to the council again in 2008.
The Country Echo reported Kraus resigned stating the city’s current direction was not the best for the future of the city. He was the sole council member to oppose a street plan and bonds. The council is expected to name a replacement to fill out his term, which expires in 2012.
Kline resigned from the Lake Shore City Council because he and his wife are moving to Nisswa. The council appointed John Poston to Kline’s seat.
