Human remains found near Granite Falls ID'ed

GRANITE FALLS, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say human remains found in some woods in western Minnesota are those of a man missing for nearly seven months.

The medical examiner's office used dental records to identify the remains as those of 27-year-old Eric Martinez Solorzano.

Solorzano disappeared April 2 after calling his sister for a ride as he walked along a highway in the area where the remains were found.

A man discovered the remains Saturday as he scouted a spot to hunt west of Granite Falls.

KSAX-TV ( reports the area had been flooded all summer and had only been out of water for the past month.

The investigation remains open pending final autopsy results.
