Brooks pleads guilty to second-degree murder in Todd Co.

OSAKIS — Jeffrey Allan Brooks on Friday pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional murder of Diane Fortenberry on May 20, reported the Todd County Sheriff’s Department.

Brooks was committing a burglary at the Fortenberry residence on Whitetail Trail in Gordon Township near Osakis, when the murder occurred.

The maximum sentence for second-degree murder is 480 months.

Brooks will be sentenced in January.
