Lakewood PACT, Gastric Bypass and AWAKE support groups to meet together

STAPLES —The PACT, Gastric Bypass and AWAKE support groups, offered by Lakewood Health System, will be meeting together for the month of December. The class is free and will be held from 2-3 p.m. Dec. 15 at Lakewood Health System’s main campus in the patio level classrooms.

The three groups will begin the meeting with Natalie Linn, LHS exercise specialist, who will talk about ways to incorporate activity into everyday routines. This programming is part of a project called Pursuing Active Change Together (PACT). Through PACT, Lakewood Health System offers free education, tips and resources for a number of health conditions.

The second part of the meeting will be spent breaking into smaller support groups. This joint group is open to anyone who is interested in receiving education, tips and resources to help promote healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention, anyone who has had gastric bypass surgery or is considering surgery, and those dealing with sleep apnea.

Space is limited and pre-registration is appreciated. RSVP online at or contact Lisa at (218) 894-8623 or Physician referral is not necessary to attend the class. For more information, contact Nola Varilek at 218-894-8586.
