Chamber planning Eggs and Issues event for Dec. 16

Eggs and Issues, a pre-2012 legislative session event will implement a new, more structured format at its Dec. 16 event at the Lodge at Brainerd Lakes in Baxter. The session will be conducted 7:15 to 9 a.m. Breakfast is from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. and the program begins at 7:45 a.m. The Lodge is located at 6967 Lake Forest Road.

In order to ensure a balanced conversation, the legislators responses will be timed, and participants will have an opportunity to submit questions at the microphone or in writing to be read to the legislators. In addition, only chamber members and invited guests will be in attendance.

Legislators invited to participate are Senators Paul Gazelka, District 12,R-Baxter, and John Carlson, R-Bemidji, District 4; Representatives John Ward, DFL-Brainerd, District 12A; Larry Howes, R-Walker, District 4B; and Representative Mike LeMieur, R-Little Falls,District 12B.

Eggs ā€˜Nā€™ Issues will be held at The Lodge at Brainerd Lakes, 6967 Lake Forest Road, Baxter, on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 7:15-9 a.m. (Breakfast 7:15-7:45 a.m.; program begins at 7:45 a.m.)

The agenda includes opening comments and introductions by Lisa Paxton, chamber CEO. Each Legislator will share his perspective on important issues facing Minnesota in the 2012 session (two minutes per legislator).

Legislators will have an opportunity to share a timed response. The wrap-up will include closing comments from each of the legislators.

The event is open to Chamber members and invited guests only. The cost is $15 per person and includes a hot breakfast buffet.
