Hot Dish Contest winners announced

Two winners were named Monday in the Hot Dish Contest at the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center in Brainerd. There were six submissions and two winners.

Taking first place in the contest was Joan Oscarson with her Chicken Spaghetti Casserole. Second place went to Kathy Tusa with her mother’s “Chinese” Hot Dish. The judges were Brainerd Mayor James Wallin, Baxter Mayor Darrel Olson, Doug Johnson, Joni Hill, Diane Hoglin and Sharon Carlson.

The remaining hot dishes will be used for the weekend frozen meals that will be delivered through the Lutheran Social Service’s Meals on Wheels program.

Churches, businesses, civic groups, friends and neighbors were encouraged to prepare their favorite hot dish and submit it for judging for the contest.
