A gift that continues to give
The holidays are filled with activities each year; gift buying, cookie baking and card writing. Once we get to mid-December, it seems like we are caught up and looking for things to do. I have a few suggestions for you.
If you have an interest in model trains, stop on at the Westgate Mall and visit the Model Railroad area. It is located on the east end and the group is there the first and third Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m and the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. This group has done an outstanding job at making interesting displays! There is always more to work on, rearrange and they are looking for additional members for their group.
Have you always wanted to write down your memoirs for your family? We have a writer’s group that will give you the support you need to get started. If you don’t write down the story of how Uncle Jack drove the Model T into the barn, who will? This group meets the first and third Tuesday of the month, 10 a.m., in the Card Room at the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center. Come and join them, you will be glad you did.
Do you have ideas for activities, programs or events? Stop into the center and find out what we have to offer; it maybe already happening. If it’s not, we will see what it will take to get it on the schedule!
We are located on the corners of Eighth and Kingwood streets on the north side of Brainerd. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. We welcome you to stop by, it could be the best gift that you give yourself!
