Father, son go through ice on ATV in western Minn.

ASHBY, Minn. (AP) — A man and his 5-year-old son are OK after their all-terrain vehicle went through ice on a Grant County lake.

The sheriff's office says the 39-year-old man and his son were on the east side of Pelican Lake Saturday morning when they drove through a pressure ridge and fell through the ice. The man was able to grab his son and get him onto the ice before pulling himself out of the water.

KSTP-TV ( reports the man notified authorities shortly before 7 a.m. and he and the boy were evaluated by emergency responders. Neither was hospitalized.
