Adrienne Polich, daughter of Greg and Linda Polich, Ironwood, Mich., and granddaughter of Denny and Laurie Polich, Deerwood, recently earned an MBA degree in marketing and entrepreneurship from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. Polich graduated from Harvard University in 2003 with a degree in economics. Prior to entering Kellogg, she worked as a senior financial analyst at Google in New York. She has accepted a position as a measurement research analyst in the Measurement and Monetization Analytics division of Facebook in Palo Alto, Calif.

Forty students were recently recognized as fall graduates of the Central Lakes College Heavy Equipment Operations and Maintenance program at Staples.

Graduating this fall with diplomas from the two-year program: Ricky Richards, Backus; Zachariah Helton (outstanding student), Baxter; Charlie Leibold and Cody Rehberger, Brainerd; Jordan Chaika and Joshua Hoheisel, Little Falls; Skyler Robinson, Merrifield; Kendall Swenson, Pine River; Tyler Leavell, Randall; Corey Woodwick (student speaker), Staples; and Nate Braith, Wadena.

Jamestown College student Courtney Jindra of Brainerd recently performed in the orchestra for the Jamestown College Theatre production of the Tony Award-winning musical “Titanic.” Jindra played the bass clarinet.

Garen Motschenbacher, son of Don and Kim Motschenbacher, Brainerd, has been admitted to North Dakota State University “With Distinction.” He will enter NDSU in fall 2012 and plans to major in chemistry. Distinction means that NDSU is acknowledging Motschenbacher as an honor student.

Minnesota State University Moorhead recently recognized the following as graduates: Shane Bruns, Walker; John Enger, Aitkin; Todd Luebke, Verndale; Krista Olson, Michael Ramsdell, Hilary Smith and Rebekah Wicklund, Brainerd; and Dominic Squires, Motley.

The following students at Forestview Middle School were named Team 7D Stars of the Trimester for first trimester: Ashley Maust, Braydon Borg, Roderick Berg, Damion Lilleskov, Elizabeth Gillette, Anna Nichols, Seth Desrocher, Madison Gohman, William Schneider, Richelle Bjork, Emily Christensen, Riley Jordan, Ava Figliuzzi, Jakob Ebinger and Hanna Degen.

Amber Vandenberghe, daughter of Allan and Sheryl Vandenberghe, Brainerd, was awarded Communication Sciences and Disorders Faculty Endowed Scholarship for academic and clinical experience. Vandenbergh is a second year graduate student majoring in Speech-Language Pathology at St. Cloud State University.

Donette Lair, Motley, was named to the dean’s list at Oak Hills Christian College in Bemidji.

Katey Hegstrom, daughter of Russell Hegstrom, Nisswa, and Tracey Hegstrom, Brainerd, has been accepted for admission to Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato.
