Man found dead in Bemidji ditch died of hypothermia

BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Police say a Bemidji man whose body was found in a ditch outside an events center died of hypothermia.

Police on Thursday identified the man as 62-year-old Allen Skiple.

Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin tells The Bemidji Pioneer ( ) an investigation found no indication of a crime.

Mastin says Skiple showed no signs of injuries.

Skiple's body was found Tuesday in a drainage ditch outside the Sanford Center. Neighbors last saw him on Saturday.
