Citing excessive cost, Mills stops recount push

Mailboxes destroyed by explosive devices

Two mailboxes in Crow Wing County were destroyed Thursday and Friday from explosive devices, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department reported.

A mailbox on the 7000 block of Wetherbee Road was reported damaged at 9:39 a.m. Friday. The other mailbox was reported damaged at 8:06 a.m. Thursday on the 8000 block of Crow Wing County Road 123.

A partial explosive device was recovered from the mailbox on Wetherbee Road. It was a small device made with plastic tubing and end caps, the sheriff’s department reported.

County deputies and the bomb squad technician are conducting an investigation.
