Firefighters respond to multiple calls

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to multiple calls over the weekend.

On Saturday, firefighters responded to a report at 7:38 a.m. at 5201 Jordan Road in Baxter of smoke detectors going off. There were no signs of smoke. At 7:57 a.m., there was a call at Brainerd City Hall, 501 Laurel Street, of smoke detectors going off. It turned out the alarms were defective.

At 6:34 p.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to 5401 Ashdale Lane in Baxter for a report of a gas smell. On Monday, firefighters were called at 6:51 a.m. to Hawthorn Suites, 7208 Fairview Road, of a faulty smoke detector on the third floor. At 8:31 a.m., called to the Pine Apartments, 1203 College Drive, to a smell of gas in the laundry room that turned out to be defective smoke alarms.
