Five area students may play on BHS teams next season
Wrestling and boys’ swimming in Pillager and alpine skiing in Pequot Lakes were endorsed by the Brainerd School Board’s Curriculum Committee Monday for a cooperative agreement, allowing five area students to compete with Brainerd High School in the sports beginning next season.
“Right now the plan is that we will have five athletes in our co-op next year,” said Charlie Campbell, athletics director. “We’re going to phase this into our budget and revenue over the course of the next two years, allowing partner schools to balance and predict a budget and commit to those funds more fully.”
Superintendent Steve Razidlo said he hopes the agreement will help continue a great relationship with the area schools and he expects other schools to want to be involved.
