Rep. Ward informing constituents about free online tax preperation
With the month of January almost done and tax documents coming in the mail, many people are beginning to turn their attention to filing their taxes. State Rep. John Ward (DFL – Brainerd) is informing constituents about the 2012 IRS Free File Program.
“I strongly encourage folks who are eligible for the Free File program in our area to take advantage of it,” Ward said in a news release. “Filing your taxes can be complicated and difficult and this program can help take some of the stress and cost out of tax season.”
To begin, taxpayers should visit the IRS website — www.irs.gov/freefile. There users will find a list of companies and may either choose the one that fits their needs or utilize the “help me find a company” tool. After selecting a tax software company, users will be transferred to the company’s website to prepare, complete and electronically file their federal income tax returns.
If constituents have any additional questions, they may also contact Ward at (651) 296-4333, by mail at 221 State Office Building, 100 Martin Luther King Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55155 or via email at email@example.com.
