ND man comes up with unique marriage proposal

WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — When Blake Buck decided to propose to his girlfriend, he chose to go a little farther than just popping the question during a special occasion.

The Wahpeton man reeled in a fiancée by taking Kellie O'Leary ice fishing on a Minnesota lake. When she dropped her line in the water, one of Buck's friends was waiting beneath the ice in scuba gear, with the ring. Mike Metzger swam 70 feet through frigid water to put the ring on O'Leary's lure.

WDAY-TV reports that O'Leary was caught hook, line and sinker. She pulled off the ring, said yes, and securely placed the ring on her finger. The wedding is set for this summer.
