Seventh annual Breezy Point Polar Bear Plunge

The seventh annual Polar Bear Plunge will be March 3 at the Breezy Point Resort Marina.

Registration will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Costume contest will be noon with the plunge at 1 p.m.

There will be prizes awarded for best team costume, best female costume, best male costume, youngest plunger and oldest plunger.

The Polar Bear Plunge is presented by Law Enforcement for Special Olympics Minnesota.

Battle of the Badges blood drive planned

The Brainerd police officers and firefighters will battle again for the hero trophy for the Battle of the Badges blood drive which will be conducted at the Heritage Assembly of God Church in Baxter, College Drive and Berrywood St. The drive will be 1-6:45 p.m. March 12-15 and from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. March 16. Call Dee Severson at 829-3485 to make appointments. Call 838-5433 on the days of the drive. Culver’s will be at the drive as well.w
