Baxter City Council: College Pines Office Park plans move forward

Email

First approached in 2010 with positive feedback from council, the College Pines Office Park planned unit development (PUD) is a little bit closer to becoming a reality.

The Baxter City Council unanimously approved the sketch plan for the PUD of College Pines Office Park, moving the sketch forward to faceĀ further development and review by city commissions. The development is located on the southwest corner of College Road and Crow Wing County Road 48.

"This is the official kick off to the PUD," said Baxter Community Development Director Bill Deblon. "We know there will be some things down the road that will need to be addressed and after further review we know questions will be brought up by staff of the utilities and planning and zoning.

"But we need to make this step forward tonight to start the ball rolling."

Jim Kramer of Kramer-Leas-Deleo Engineering Firm, the company in charge of the project, agreed with Deblon.

"Right now I don't see any walls and I want to be able to report back and keep this (project) moving forward," said Kramer.

The PUD for College Pines Office Park would re-plat the Haglin Professional Park plat, said Deblon, eliminating the majority of the common area and consist of a more traditional lot and block development with city streets and utilities.

In other action taken: The Baxter City Council approve the Costco Addition plat extension. The extension will allow until June 17, 2012 to record the Costco Addition plat.
