CROSSLAKE — “What Happens After you Dial 911” is the topic of the next Crosslake Chautauqua fron 1:30 – 3:30 p.m, Wednesday at the Crosslake Community Center

The duties of first responders and how they coordinate efforts will be addressed. On hand will be Kevin Lee, manager of North Memorial Ambulance Service, Officer Eric Swanson of the Crosslake Police Department and Crosslake Fire Chief Chip Lohmiller. Together they will dissect the anatomy of a 911 call and explain their respective responses to it.

Lee will explain the 911 dispatch center, EMT training, and how the ambulance service, AirCare, and hospitals work in unison. Officer Swanson will discuss police protocol for prioritizing and responding to calls, as well as officer training and response. Chief Lohmiller will explain how a volunteer fire department gets paged and dispatched, the types of emergencies they are called to, and response time.
