STUDENT WRITERS don't forget to enter an original piece into the Brainerd District Writing Contest. There will be a total of 9 awards guaranteed! All poems, short stories, and essays must be in by March 30. Please see an English teacher for more information.

STATE TOURNAMENT HOCKEY TICKETS for students are available to all hockey players for purchase in the activities office. The cost is $60.00 per set. Please see Kathy in the activities office if you are interested in purchasing a set.

DOUGHNUTS, DOUGHNUTS, DOUGHNUTS! There will be doughnuts for sale for a buck a piece on Thursday in the commons. All proceeds go to provide the Los Robles School in Nicaragua with clean water. Bring a couple of dollars tomorrow and help out.

MISS BRAINERD LAKES, Rebecca Yeh and our Brainerds Outstanding Teen, Baily Wachhotz, will be recruiting girls for the up-coming Miss Brainerd Lakes Pageant. The girls will be by the media center in BHS this Thursday, March 8th over the lunch periods. Stop by if you are interested.

ATTN GRADUATING SENIORS: You will need to stop, in the hallway, outside of the Library, on Friday, March 9th to approve your name on your Diploma for Graduation. We need everyone to make sure that all names are spelled correctly. There will be a drawing for a FREE CLASS RING for the seniors who come down to approve their name.

CAREER EXPLORATION: Students who have signed up to go to the Career Exploration must report to their first hour class. If students do not have a first hour, report to the main office area at 8:30.

Students CANNOT drive to the Career Exploration day. If you drive you will not be allowed to attend and will be sent back to BHS. All students who have signed up will ride the bus.

Students who did not sign up to attend this event, must report to their regular scheduled classes.

FIFTH STREET JOURNAL comes out on Thursday. Students can pick up the paper in their second hour classes.


JUNIOR CLASS CABINET is looking for three groups to provide prelude music for Grand March at Prom . The groups may be a solo, a duet or a small group. Please see Mrs. Augustinack in Room 200 if interested for an audition before Friday, March 23rd or further

KEY CLUB: Reminder the next meeting is Tuesday, March 20th to discuss the blood drive at the end of the month, swim party in April, Quilt bingo at the Senior Center and state convention in April. SPRING BLOOD DRIVE: KEY Club will beginning registering students during A and B lunches this week, March 6-8 and again the week after spring break. The Blood Drive is Thursday, March 29th. You must be at least 16 years old to give blood. All 16 years olds must have a parent permission slip to give blood. Stop by the registration table at lunch and sign up to save a life by giving a pint!!!


BOYS TENNIS MEETING is scheduled for Thursday, March 8 at 3:15pm in the South Conference Room of the high school. If you are interested, please plan to attend.

GIRLS GOLF MEETING: Any girls who did not attend the girls golf meeting on Tuesday, after school, should see Coach Aulie at the South Campus before the end of the week to get information about the first day of practice.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
