Morrison County to mail statements and valuations

Morrison County to mail statements and valuations

Morrison County will mail property tax statements and valuations notices in the same envelope in an effort to reduce costs. Depending on how many parcels a resident owns, they may receive multiple envelopes. The county asks citizens to watch their mailboxes for the communication in early April. The notices are time sensitive, so it is important to read the information promptly and carefully.

Included in the envelope will be:

• 2012 Tax statement. This is your tax bill, the property tax amount you owe for 2012. The first half payment due date for all property classes is May 15; the second half due dates are determined by your classification and will be identified on the payment stub at the bottom of the tax statement. Also noted on your tax stubs are payment instructions or messages that may apply to your specific property, read the information carefully. Questions on 2012 taxes payable may be directed to the Morrison County Auditor/Treasurer’s office at (320) 632-0151.

• 2012 Valuation and Classification notice. This notice reflects the proposed value that will be used to calculate your 2013 property taxes. Questions on your 2012 classification and value can be directed to the county assessor’s office at (320) 632-0101 and must be addressed through your local Board of Appeal and Equalization meetings held beginning mid-April. Applicable meeting times and locations are outlined on your notice.
