Legislature mulls mom-friendly fish opener

Email

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — There's a move brewing in the Legislature to make this year's Minnesota fishing opener more mom-friendly.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Wednesday (http://bit.ly/HkB1Po ) that the state House has approved a game and fish bill with a provision to shift this year's game-fishing season up a week to May 5. That would save the previously scheduled May 12 opener from conflicting with Mother's Day on May 13.
