Brainerd Rotary Club receives district awards

The Brainerd Rotary Club recently received numerous awards at the Rotary District 5580 District Conference in Cloquet.

Three members of the club were awarded Distinguished Rotarian awards for their efforts in various facets of rotary. Paula Persons was awarded third place for Distinguished Rotarian for Club Service; John Forrest received second place for Distinguished Rotarian for Community Services; and Kevin Thesing was named second place for Distinguished Rotarian for Vocational Service.

In addition, the Brainerd Rotary Club also received Awards for Excellence in five different categories: Inter Organizational Award, third place; Community Service Award, third place; Foundation Total Annual Giving, $16,195, third place; Interclub Service Award, second place; Fundraising Award, second place.

The Brainerd Rotary Club was also awarded second place for Best Club in District.

District 5580 includes 65 Rotary clubs throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Canada.

Brainerd Rotary meets at noon on Tuesdays at the Brainerd Hotel and Conference Center in Brainerd.
