Crosby-Ironton High School

Commencement ceremony: 7 p.m. May 18 in Ranger Gym at C-I High School.

Pequot Lakes High School

Future plans: Attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth and major in chemistry and continue his education at medical school. If all goes as planned, he will become a medical doctor, in particular, a surgeon.

Salutatorian: Claire Christine Erholtz.

Parents: Michael and Stacy Erholtz.

Activities: Fall dance club, dance team, tennis team, National Honor Society president, youth group, youth coordinator for vacation Bible school, Sunday school teacher at Timberwood Church, prom committee, Interact Club and Circle of Friends volunteer. She was also crowned Nisswa’s 2nd Princess 2012 and was the Outstanding Essay winner in the 2012 Miss Nisswa Scholarship Pageant.

Future plans: Attend the University of North Dakota and pursue a major in secondary education emphasizing in English and special education.

Pillager High School

Commencement ceremony: 7 p.m. May 25.

Number of graduating class: 60.

Class motto: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass...it is about dancing in the rain.”

Staples Motley High School

Commencement ceremony: 7:30 p.m. May 25, Staples Motley High School Gymnasium.

Valedictorian: Tera Weyer.

Parents: Michael and Joy Weyer.

Activities: Speech, National Honor Society, fall play, musicals, girls’ golf, jazz band, Knowledge Bowl, bell choir, a cappella choir, symphonic band, Target Beyond and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Future plans: Attend North Central University in Minneapolis, majoring in Intercultural Studies with a long term goal of becoming a missionary. She will be on an internship in Istanbul, Turkey, with a missionary couple this summer.

Salutatorian: Jonathan Nypan.

Parents: Ronald and Deana Nypan.

Activities: Eagle Scout, Dollars for Scholars student representative, National Society member, fall play, musicals, class director, speech, Target Beyond, Student Council, jazz band, a cappella choir, symphonic band and Knowledge Bowl.

Future plans: Attend North Dakota State University. He will pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. His long range goal is to obtain his master’s degree.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley High School

Commencement ceremony: 2 p.m. May 27, high school gymnasium.

Number of graduating class: 60.

Lake Region Christian School

Future plans: Continue working at Dairy Queen through summer and attend Crown College to study business.

Future plans: Attend Northwestern College and study either psychology or literature.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
